Headspace Offers LA County Free Access to App in Response to California Wildfires
Headspace is providing those impacted by the wildfires in Los Angeles county with mental health resources, including six months of free access to its flagship app.

In the wake of the wildfires that have spread across Los Angeles county and displaced more than 150,000 residents, Headspace is providing free access to the Headspace app through July 31, 2025, for anyone in Los Angeles county.
The fires have caused widespread destruction in Headspace’s hometown of Los Angeles, leaving many residents grappling with the trauma of loss, displacement, and uncertainty. Headspace recognizes the profound impact these events have on mental wellbeing and understands that immediate access to mental health and mindfulness resources is vital in the early stages of a crisis.
In addition to providing access to thousands of mental health and mindfulness resources within the Headspace app – available to help individuals find peace and process difficult emotions – community members who are looking for immediate, in-the-moment support can access a collection of guided exercises, focused on themes such as “Support in Moments of Crisis,” “Coping with the Unknown,” “Processing and Understanding Grief,” “Creating Space in Tragedy,” and “Finding Moments of Rest,” outside of the Headspace platform.
Headspace is also focused on the long-term recovery of the community, as research shows that mental health challenges, such as anxiety and depression, can surface three to four weeks after a disaster. Headspace employees, including many of whom live in Los Angeles, are personally invested in helping our collective communities across the city rebuild and heal.
“The challenges posed by these wildfires are unprecedented. As a mental health company based in Santa Monica, we’re committed to helping the community find peace, recovery, and strength in the face of such overwhelming loss,” said Tom Pickett, CEO of Headspace. “Our efforts to make our app and crisis support content easily accessible is just the first step in what will be an ongoing effort to offer mental health support, tools for stress relief, and guidance on resilience in the face of adversity.”
“We know the road to recovery from these fires will be challenging and painful, spanning weeks, months, and even years to come,” added Jenna Glover, Chief Clinical Officer of Headspace. “We’re leaning in to support Los Angeles residents thoughtfully and intentionally – not just in the immediate aftermath, but as the long-term healing process begins.”
Individuals who are physically located in Los Angeles county can sign up for free access directly within the app from today, January 27, through July 31st, 2025. For more information about the initiative, or to access crisis support content, please visit www.headspace.com/la-wildfires.
