Everybody Headspace group meditation and a new female voice
When it comes to having choices, Headspace just got a whole lot better with the addition of Everybody Headspace group meditation and the introduction of a female voice.
At Headspace, our goal is to improve the health and happiness of the world by introducing the benefits of mindfulness and meditation to a wide audience. To achieve that, we actively listen to our members’ feedback about their desires, needs, and preferences around content. As a result, we are continually rolling out new features.
For Headspace Plus subscribers, the group meditation feature — Everybody Headspace — means that our global meditation community will get to connect and meditate together, which we know can be encouraging in building, and sticking to, a meditation routine.
Every day Everybody Headspace group meditations are available to Headspace Plus subscribers every 30 minutes, starting at the top of every hour as well as half past the hour.
Headspace’s guided meditations have been carefully crafted, created, and voiced by our co-founder Andy Puddicombe. As a former Buddhist monk, Andy brings unparalleled expertise to the app, translating ancient teachings into a more accessible language, while constantly staying true to the Tibetan lineage that underpins the exercises. The addition of a female voice gives Headspace members a choice — male or female audio guidance — without compromising the authentic, approachable teachings.
The female narrator is an available option across different pieces of content in the Headspace app, including the foundational Basics course, some 30-day courses, 10-day courses, single exercises, and minis. Over time, more content will be rolled out with a female voice.
Whether it’s Andy voice or a female voice you hear in the Headspace app — or whether it’s a series of narrators in the Headspace sleepcasts — you can rest assured that the guidance will always be calming, clear, and concise.
By listening to the requests and feedback from our valued Headspace members and app community, it became clear that providing our guided meditations in a woman’s voice was a logical next step in Headspace’s offerings, alongside new languages including German and French.
The initial list of content available in Headspace’s female voice is below, with more rolling out in the Headspace app over the coming months:
Basics of Meditation 1, 2, 3
30-day courses:
10-day courses:
Single exercises:
Mini’s:

Whether you resonate with a female or male narrator, the voice behind Headspace will always be brought to you with authentic guidance and teaching.
Practicing mindfulness and meditation gives us a greater awareness of our thoughts and feelings, and a natural result of this is that we get a greater insight into our habits and tendencies. We are extremely excited to provide an additional choice in the voice of Headspace. As always, the languages offered in the Headspace app will continue to be built upon as we grow with our members and expand our content library.
