Headspace Expands Specialty Care Ecosystem to Support Neurodiversity, Eating Disorders, and High-Acuity Care
New partnerships with Charlie Health, Cortica, Prosper and Equip give Headspace members and their families more seamless referral pathways to specialty mental health care

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - July 21, 2026 05:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time – Headspace, the leading mental health companion for everyday support, today expanded its specialty care ecosystem, giving Headspace members and their dependents more coordinated pathways to care for complex needs. Members receiving support from a therapist, psychiatrist, or coach through Headspace’s employee assistance program (EAP) offering, as well as those accessing care directly through other consumer and employer channels, can now receive referrals for specialty care for neurodiversity, eating disorders, substance use, and other complex needs.
Over the past decade, Headspace has provided more than three million care sessions to members through their employer or health plan, supported by a network of over 65,000 clinicians. In the past year, nearly one third of referral requests have been for high-need specialty care. By extending support beyond individuals to spouses, children, and other dependents, organizations can ensure both employees and their loved ones alike have access to a personalized support system tailored to their specific needs.
Members can now be referred directly into a select group of trusted partners, each specializing in a distinct area of care:
Charlie Health: For members who need more support than weekly therapy can offer, Charlie Health provides virtual Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) for individuals ages 8-64 dealing with serious mental health challenges, addiction, or co-occurring conditions. Each member receives a personalized care plan, combining curated group sessions and individual therapy as well as family therapy as needed.
Cortica: Cortica offers physician-led, whole-child care for children (17 and under) with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Services include diagnostic evaluation and integrated medical, behavioral, and developmental care, delivered in-center, virtually, or at home. Members can also access care for co-occurring conditions like sleep issues and anxiety, with continued support from Headspace's care team.
Prosper Health: Prosper Health is a telehealth platform delivering neurodiversity-affirming psychological evaluations for autism, therapy, and post-diagnosis community support to autistic and neurodivergent adults (ages 18+). Their virtual platform offers comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, ongoing therapy, and post-diagnosis community, all from a team that understands and affirms neurodivergent identity.
Equip: Equip is a fully virtual eating disorder program for individuals (ages 6+) that breaks the mold of traditional levels of care by treating medically-stable patients across a wide spectrum of acuity levels. Patients are matched with a multidisciplinary care team involving licensed therapists, registered dietitians, medical providers, coaches, and others with whom they collaborate and receive wraparound support.
When clinically appropriate, referrals happen through a Headspace therapist, psychiatrist, or coach – helping catch needs early, identifying triggers and connecting members to care before symptoms escalate. From there, Headspace’s dedicated Referral Coordination team steps in to help members understand their options, then manages a warm handoff to the right partner so care continues without disruption.
“Families seeking autism evaluations, eating disorder treatment, or intensive outpatient care are often navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives. They deserve a clear path to care, not a confusing search process,” said Jenna Glover, PhD, chief clinical officer of Headspace. “People are at different stages and need different kinds of support, whether that’s for everyday stress and sleep support, or higher-acuity clinical care. These partnerships help us meet members wherever they are and connect them to the right level of care faster, providing better support for some of the most prevalent and underserved needs in today's patient population.”
