Headspace, the leading mental health companion for everyday support, announced the appointment of Charles Fan as Chief Commercial Officer, effective today. In this role, Fan will oversee commercial operations, partnerships, B2B strategy and operations, and lead efforts to foster and deepen Headspace’s collaborations with employers, health plans and strategic partners.

With more than two decades of leadership experience in health care, Fan has built his career advancing behavioral health, enhancing consumer experiences and driving value-based care models - leading businesses that collectively achieved over $800 million in growth. Most recently, he served as Chief Commercial Officer at Babylon Health, where he spearheaded global expansion efforts across 15 countries on three continents. Prior to Babylon, he spent a decade at Optum, where he helped shape corporate strategy and led multiple business units, including Optum’s behavioral health commercial payer division. He has also served on advisory boards for several leading digital health companies.

Fan’s career reflects a combination of clinical, consumer, and strategic expertise. He began in surgical patient care at Beaumont Hospital and clinical pharmacology research at the University of Michigan Medical School. He later refined his understanding of consumer behavior at General Mills, before applying these insights leading healthcare organizations as a strategy consultant at Deloitte Consulting. Fan holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
