Headspace Studio. Hi friends, it's Rosie here. Welcome to Radio Headspace and to Tuesday. For a long time, I was the kind of person who liked control. It's not that I have to be in charge, I'm just a bit particular. I love my routine. I love to make plans, and I love doing things my way. And if I'm not 100% sure I'll succeed at something, typically I avoid it. I'm just being honest. No one likes to take risks because risks mean uncertainty. And uncertainty means what if we fail? But one year I made a pact with myself. I just read the power of habit and something about it lit a fire in me. I decided that for one year I would say yes to anything that both excited me and scared me, even just a little. And that year, it changed my entire life. So yesterday we talked about staying open to being wrong. And today I wanna talk about something else that keeps us open, saying yes, but not in a overcommit to everything and burn yourself out kind of way. More like saying yes to life, to the things that challenge us, stretch us, maybe even scare us a little, but that could also change everything. When we say yes, especially to the things that push us outside of our comfort zones, we open ourselves up to growth, joy, and connection in ways we can't predict. When we stay in our comfort zones, we limit what's possible. One of the biggest yes moments in my life was when I agreed to lead my first retreat. And let me tell you, I was terrified. I mean, terrified. Imposter syndrome had me in paralysis of analysis. Who was I to do this? What if I messed up? What if no one showed up? And guess what? Almost no one did. Show up. Three people. That's it. Just three. Talk about a humbling moment. Has that ever happened to you? You planned something in your mind that feels like it's gonna be a hit, and then no one else does. I had envisioned this big life changing experience with a full group with. Instead, I was sitting there with three people thinking, wow, this is embarrassing. What am I even doing here? I wanted to crawl out of my own skin. I wanted to cancel it. I wanted to retreat into my Cancerian shell and kept thinking, should I not be doing this? Can we just pretend like this never happened? But then something shifted. I realized that these three people had chosen to be there. They had trusted me to guide them, to create space for them. So instead of feeling like I had failed, I poured my heart into it. I let go of my expectations and just focused on what was right in front of me. And you know what? It ended up being one of the most special, intimate, and transformational weekends for all of us. We had deep conversations, real breakthroughs, and a connection I could have never planned for. And the best thing that retreat, it was a foundation for everything that...
