I think focus is probably one of my biggest challenges. Here... I mean, our mind is a computer, right? It's designed to be constantly processing and thinking and creating lists. So I'm here to talk about ways that mindfulness can help us focus. Hold on. I actually need a moment. We got so many great questions with this focus topic that I want to run through as many as I possibly can and answer them as quickly as possible, because why not? A member is asking, "If you have a valuable thought "during meditation, how do you remember it "and come back to it after your practice?" This is a really great question and something that I've encountered myself. I journal for 10 to 15 minutes, so that when I'm practicing I can just gently release it and not hold onto it the entire time I'm meditating, because if I do that, then I'm distracted. So I try to just gently put it down and trust that it's gonna be there when I'm finished with my practice, and then I can go and write about it. Next question, "I meditate daily and enjoy it, "but then I hit a certain point "and I start to feel and even notice every little thought "and sensation in my everyday life, "so I stop my practice and I restart weeks later "until I hit the next plateau. "I feel that it would benefit me a lot "to overcome that cycle, but I don't know how." So part of our meditation practice is designed for us to be in the present moment, to not engage with whatever's happening in the mind. The question doesn't really clarify whether you're feeling something pleasurable or you're feeling something unpleasant, so I would always recommend talking to somebody if you're having feelings that you don't wanna feel during your practice. Sometimes our practice doesn't always feel great. I just remember the promise of the practice is to be able to move through emotions and to be able to name them and just be present with where you're at without engaging in whatever thought or memory comes up. Just stick with it, if you can. I would maybe talk to somebody about these emotions if they're causing unease, and hopefully that helps. Another question from one of our members says, "I've been practicing my meditation daily now "for a few months and I find myself coming back "to the same problem, my life." I can relate to this already. "My natural tendency is to resist any and all thoughts "as they come through my head, "and I know this resistance "just creates more tension in the mind, "but I can't seem to get out of this habit." Oh, resistance, we all experience this. Sometimes tension when you're practicing is normal, and I think that the best way to move through that tension is to figure out a way where you're not feeling uneasy in your practice or in your...
