(crickets chirping) It's hard to tell where the pool ends and the ocean begins at a favorite hotel here in Uluwatu, Bali. The water is smooth as glass reflecting the last amber light of the day. Here, everything is calm. The palms sway, but they're in no hurry. A chorus of crickets, their steady stridulating calls weaves a melody into the lazy backdrop. As we prepare for our visit, let's take a moment for a short wind down exercise. So when you're ready, let's begin. So first, get comfortable in your bed. Now just bringing the attention to the breath, just noticing where you feel it, in the nose, the throat, the chest, the diaphragm. You're nice and relaxed. We're going to be taking a deep breath in for four, holding it for four, and then breathing out for six. So are you ready? Let's begin. In for four. Two, three, four. Hold it for four, two, three, four. Now breathing out for six. Two, three, four, five, six. In for four, two, three, four. Holding for four, two, three, four. Out for six, two, three, four, five, six. In for four, two, three, four. Holding for four, two, three, four. Out for six, two, three, four, five, six. In for four, two, three, four. Holding for four, two, three, four. Out for six, two, three, four, five, six. Great. Now returning the breath to normal. (water rustling) A boat rocks softly by the pier. Its paint curled back into soft ribbons. A sign of the boat's commitment to the ocean. The hull leans into the tide, creaking in quiet conversation of wood and waves. Just beyond, the Kadumenen market sits in stillness. Lanterns hang from wooden beams. A glass dulled by the salty air. The wide planks of the pier are glistening faintly in the sunset. Fishing nets lie coiled in neat piles, their cords darkened to a sea green from the day's tide. Tin buckets, white with chipped blue rims, sit ready to be filled again. Their dented sides reflecting light as though they too have a story to tell. A stray tabby cat winds its way along the planks, tail flicking as it pauses to gaze out at the boats before vanishing into the folds of the sleepy market. For now, the place is quiet. In the morning, the stands will stir. Voices will weave together and the market will come alive. But in this pocket of stillness, it's a theater of quiet textures, peeling paint, glistening wood, quiet lanterns, and the sea's gentle sway in the company of boats. (water rustling) At low tide, the ocean pulls back to reveal hidden chambers along the beach, entering the vaulted passages at Suluban Cave is like stepping into a different portal of earth. The caves have been shaped over thousands of years by countless tides and the consistent measure of the ocean. Over the centuries, seawater has dissolved the limestone, leaving rough hollows that resemble the surface of...
