(rain drumming) At an old fruit farm where orchards meet the rolling hills, late summer is settling in. (rain drumming) The last golden light of the day lingers among the tree's leaves and the air still carries the warmth from the afternoon. (crickets chirping) (rain drumming) A narrow creek is flowing nearby. Its soft current easy to hear. Among the fruit trees sits a small wooden shop called Sam's Jams. (rain drumming) The shelves inside are glowing with jewel-toned jars that hold the summer's harvest. (rain drumming) Before we take a look inside, let's take a moment for a brief wind down exercise. For tonight's wind down, you're going to use your imagination. So get your imagination ready and let's begin. (rain drumming) So no matter what's been going on today, whether it's been a busy day or a calm one, this is an opportunity to put everything down, to let go of any inner chatter and find a place of rest in both the body and the mind. (rain drumming) So first, get yourself comfortable in bed, just taking a moment to pause and be still. And when you're ready, taking a big deep breath, breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth. (crickets chirping) (rain drumming) Feeling the weight of the body, allowing thoughts to come and go. (crickets chirping) (rain drumming) Now imagining (crickets chirping) (rain drumming) a steady flow of warm sunlight flowing down through the body, (rain drumming) dissolving any tension and discomfort as it begins to fill the body, starting with the toes, (crickets chirping) (rain drumming) moving up through the feet and the legs, being filled with sunlight. (rain drumming) The qualities of warmth, space, and ease as it continues to travel up through the body, (rain drumming) up past the waist, to the back and the stomach. (rain drumming) It's as though it washes away any discomfort. (rain drumming) It continues up through the chest and the back, into the shoulders and down the arms, (crickets chirping) (rain drumming) all the way down to the hands and fingers. (crickets chirping) (rain drumming) A sense of relief in the body and stillness in the mind as it continues to travel up through the neck and the throat (rain drumming) into the head and face, all the way to the very top of the body (rain drumming) until there's nothing other than that sense of stillness remaining. (rain drumming) And now just gently bringing the attention back to the body. (rain drumming) (object thudding) Some people visit Sam's Jams for the colorful jars lined neatly on the shelves. (object thudding) But the regulars know they should also save room for pie. If you ask Sam, pie is simply jam wearing a hat. Here, the pie flavors follow the seasons. Apple arrives with the first cool mornings. Pear comes a little later. But while the orchard is still wrapped in summer, it's always...
