Hello there and welcome to the Mars buggy. We're so glad to see you've made the journey from Earth. You've traveled 265 million miles to be here with us, and we're sure the trip will be everything you dreamed of on the way. The moment any explorer steps into the Mars buggy, they are met with an array of options to match their mood. The variable lighting for this trip is set to a nice yellow. Evoking the coziness of glowing embers and most riders are amazed by the comfort of our reclining seats which adjust to your body like a gentle hug. The temperature controlled interior glides over the planet's surface without even the slightest hint of engine noise. From the comfort of the buggy, Mars's famous dust storms pass like burnt orange smoke dancing in the distance. Up close, the dust blankets the buggy, but the winds cause no turbulence. The Mars buggy is ready to take you anywhere on this red planet you can imagine. But before we embark on our journey, let's break for a brief exercise. Tonight's exercise is a really simple breathing exercise. So, when you're ready, let's begin. So first, get yourself comfortable. Now just bringing the attention to the breath. Just noticing where you feel it. In the nose, the throat, the chest, the diaphragm. You're nice and relaxed. We're going to be taking a deep breath. In for four, holding it for four, and then breathing out for six. So, are you ready? Let's begin. In for four, two, three, four. Hold it for four, two, three, four. Breathing out for six, two, three, four, five, six. In for four, two, three, four. Holding for four, two, three, four. Out for six, two, three, four, five, six. In for four, two, three, four. Holding for four, two, three, four. Out for six, two, three, four, five, six. In for four, two, three, four. Holding for four, two, three, four. Out for six, two, three, four, five, six. Great, now returning the breath to normal. One of the most common sites on this tour are craters. About 60% of Mars' surface is covered with craters and they're always fascinating to look at. Some scientists theorize that this is due to the Late Heavy Bombardment, a massive celestial event thought to have occurred several billion years ago. During the LHB, it's hypothesized, planets in the solar system were bombarded with large numbers of asteroids. But other scientists say, that's not true. Some think the craters were formed over a much longer period of time. It's partly to do with the ages of rocks. It isn't just anybody who can work out the precise age of a billion-something-year-old rock. Maybe it's a bit like when you remember something from childhood and your childhood friend says, "No, that's not how it happened at all." But neither of you can ever know for sure. Either way, the Late Heavy Bombardment is a wonderful phrase, isn't it?...
