Frequently asked questions

  • Any sound captured from the great outdoors can be soothing and make it easier for you to fall asleep. Instead of the mind being occupied by racing thoughts, it is diverted by the lulling effect of water sleep sounds. As with any ambient noise, water sleep sounds — pouring rain, a rainy grove, a cascading waterfall, or crashing ocean waves — are effective because they offer a baseline of sound that creates a masking effect, blocking any distracting background noises in your home or outside.

  • What tends to keep most people awake is a mind that is racing with thoughts or sensitive to external noises (it’s why sleep plugs and eye masks come in handy!) When you choose to use water sleep sounds as a sleep aid, you give the mind a gentle diversion that’s both loud enough and quiet enough to mask any noisy thoughts or external distractions.

  • Any ambient noise that mirrors a natural sound is effective for helping you to fall asleep a little easier, but water sounds for sleep are popular because they offer their own relaxing value, helping to bring your mindset into a state of calmness. “Underwater currents” offers up to 500 minutes of water sounds to help you float off to sleep. Or, try “Ocean time” for 500 minutes of soothing ocean sounds.
