I feel like if you're struggling with social anxiety, always have a self-care toolkit. And I always tell people, "Self-care is a prevention strategy. It is not a crisis response." And so, when you think about putting together this self-care toolbox, these are some things that I would encourage you to think of. Hey everyone, it's Dora here, and welcome back to "Radio Headspace." Lately I've been thinking about how healing often feels like something we're supposed to do alone. Like if we just meditate more, read the right book, or fix our mindset, everything will fall into place. But the truth is, healing doesn't happen in isolation. It doesn't have to. And no one says that better than Minaa B. She's a licensed therapist, the founder of I'm So Mature, a media company bridging pop culture, music, and healing. And she's also the author of "Owning Our Struggles," which is all about the power of community care in our healing journeys. So today we are getting to the root of loneliness, how social media distorts our idea of connection, and why true healing requires community. Even when that's hard. This is a powerful and honest conversation, and I'm so excited for it, and I hope you enjoy. Hey, Minaa. I am so excited for this conversation. I gotta start by giving you your flowers and just- Oh, thank you. Thanking you for all the beautiful work and healing that you put out into this world. Especially for people that look like me. Being a mental health practitioner, I'm always just in awe of those of us who decide to, you know, step forward and be in the limelight and talk about a lot of these taboo things, especially when it comes to mental health. So thank you. Thank you, Dora. Thank you. Yeah. And welcome to "Radio Headspace." So, you know, today we're talking all about community and the power of community, and the importance of healing by being in community with others. And I think as I was getting this interview ready, I was thinking about how the word healing is often misunderstood. It's such a trendy, big thing that sometimes people are using really lightly. And that's where I would like to start today, is what is your definition of healing and what does it mean? Hmm. You know, Dora, I'm happy you asked this question. Because I do think it's important to combat the myth that healing means that we're arriving to some particular destination. Hmm. I believe healing is a journey that has multiple paths, and it's a journey that we're consistently on, literally up until the day that we die. Yeah. I don't think that there is a particular arrival point. I like to look at healing as doing physical therapy for your mind, body and spirit. Mm. You know, I think the term healing can be really tricky for people because it's derived from the medical community where if somebody has an injury, they're gonna be...
