(calming music) Headspace Studios. Welcome back, folks, to another episode of "Dear Headspace". I'm Robin, and in about one minute, I'm gonna be joined by Headspace teacher extraordinaire, Sam, and we are going to answer questions about being a new mom with new anxieties, strategies for dealing with harsh or abrasive people. And we also have an important question about what to do when you feel like you wanna hide from all the pain in the world. Have you ever wished you had a wise meditation teacher on speed dial? Someone you can call after a long day. Someone you could lean on for their advice. Someone to listen and help you to see things differently. Welcome to "Dear Headspace", a podcast where I sit with a meditation teacher and we answer your questions. Hi, Sam. Hi, Robin. Guess what? This is our 50th episode of "Dear Headspace". Oh my gosh, I can't believe that. That's insane. We need air horns, confetti, some kind of a banner. Why don't we have banners? I know. We do, we do. I would've prepared ahead of time if I knew. I'm all about the celebrations. I mean, as the producer of the show, that's probably my fault, but at a 100, we're getting banners. Yes, yeah. Oh, for sure. No, but it's so great that we've been able to do this and it's my favorite part of my week for sure. I know, it doesn't even feel like work. It's truly a privilege to do this, right? To be able to answer questions and to take in what people are giving. And I feel like with that, we should just get to our very first question. It is from a new mom who is struggling a bit because oof, let me tell you something, I relate to this question. I'm just gonna go ahead and play it. Here we go. Okay. Hello, Headspace, this is Delana. My question is the following. So I'm a new mom. It's been now almost nine months. And what I noticed is that I used to consider myself a brave person before. I used to be feeling that nothing can happen to me. And even if it does, it doesn't matter. But now since I'm a mom, I've become so blocked by anxious thoughts and by fears about me, about my baby, about what others will think, whether I'm a good mom or not. And I end up doing much less than I was doing before or end up doing something, but just living through it thousands of times and going into so much spirals of worries before I actually do it. So yeah. Here is a greeting from my little one. I wanted to ask you, is there anything I can do with meditation to help me become brave again and not overthink stuff? Thank you so much. Aw, what a wonderful question. And if it didn't encapsulate the entire thing right there with the baby crying...
