Caring for others, both young and old, can leave very little space for you. This short self-compassion break is your moment to pause, breathe, and offer yourself the same care and compassion you so often give to others. So let's begin by taking a deep breath in and a long breath out. Feeling your feet on the ground and the body being supported. If you'd like, you can try resting a hand on your heart and taking a moment here to notice any tension, heaviness or fatigue. And not fixing it, just noticing, allowing it to be seen and acknowledged. Now, try gently saying to yourself, "This is a moment of stress," or, "This is a moment of caregiving fatigue." And then reminding yourself, this is just a moment. It doesn't define who I am and what I have to give. It's okay to rest. It's okay to pause and take a moment just for myself. The people in my life I care for benefit deeply by me caring for myself. Just notice how this lands in the mind and body. And then taking another deep breath here, and just see if you can take these words and reminders with you into the rest of your day....
