Hi and welcome to "Headspace" as we explore the practice of loving others. There are many people that bring value to your life experience, from your immediate family and relatives, close friends, intimate partner, our mentors, teachers, classmates, coworkers, and acquaintances. There are many reasons to love and be appreciative for the various contributions that they all make in your life. When you make time as you are now to connect to your ability to love others, you can positively strengthen the respect and harmony of your relationships. In this practice of loving others, I invite you to acknowledge the abundance of natural love that lives in your heart, enabling your ability to share it. For now, keep the eyes open and make yourself as comfortable as possible. Whether you're sitting upright or lying down, find yourself becoming very still as you bring attention to the weight of your body where it makes contact with the surface and allow yourself to completely settle in. As you settle, begin to bring attention to the natural breathing pattern at the entrance of the nostrils, noticing your inhalation and noticing your exhalation. We are not judging our breathing; we are simply noticing the flow of the breath. If your situation allows, feel welcome to lightly close the eyes and continue to focus on the flow of your breath. As we connect to our ability to love others, we'll utilize this time to imagine them in our mind- all the different people in our lives. Whether you're imagining images of your family members, intimate partnerships, or neighbors or coworkers, just realize there's so many different people in your life worthy of your love. Let's imagine them now and let's wish them well. Repeat the following terms in your mind while imagining the people in your life living in this way. May you be healthy and well. May you experience happiness and laughter. May you experience love and peace. May you experience safety and live with ease. Just imagine the various people in your life living in this way, being touched by your love in this moment, full of health and happiness, full of love and peace, and safely experiencing this life with ease. I invite you to bring attention back to the flow of your breath. Inhaling, feeling empowered by this breath, exhaling as you share your love with others. Keep them in mind as you breathe in. Keep them in mind as you breathe out. When you are ready, bring attention to the physical body and gently open the eyes. May you touch, move, and inspire others with your love....
