Life is sometimes difficult. We know this for a fact. And yet still we resist these things in our mind when they happen. Meditation allows us to let go of this resistance, to rest at ease. It's a funny thing, right? Or a strange thing that we should still resist, these things that we know are gonna happen in our life and which in very often are quite inevitable, there's no way of avoiding these things. We tend to live with this idea that, it's almost like the default setting in life is not only happiness but that everything should be going exactly as we would like it to in every moment. And so when it doesn't, there's a sense of resistance towards it. We don't meet the moment in the reality of that moment we meet the moment in an idea of what we would like it to be. And so there's always a sense of sort of conflict in the mind between those two things. But once we accept that life is difficult sometimes, it's really challenging sometimes, that those moments will happen. Then all of a sudden we let go of that resistance, doesn't mean it will be easy, but it does mean we can meet whatever situation arises from a place of integrity, authenticity, honesty, knowing that how we relate to that moment will define our experience of that moment. So just taking a moment to settle both the body and the mind, we'll start with the eyes open. And when you're ready, just a big, deep breath, breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth. And as you exhale this time, just gently closing the eyes. Just starting to notice the body, in particular that feeling of weight, the body pressing down perhaps the feet on the floor, the hands, the arms just resting and relax. And starting to notice the different sounds around you. Allowing sounds to come and go without thinking about them just noticing the different sounds. And then bringing the attention back to the body. Noticing if there's any sense of restlessness or stillness in the body today. Okay, not thinking about it, just noticing. And noticing how the breath is behaving today. So just noticing whether the breaths are long, short, deep or shallow. Just following that movement. And place your hand on the stomach if you find it easier. All right, just resting the mind on that sensation. And now just letting go of that focus bringing the attention back to the body, back to that feeling of weight and of contact back to the sounds around you. And when you're ready, just gently opening the eyes again....
