Better mental health starts with Headspace

Hi, and welcome to Headspace, as we take a moment to explore our true nature. Humans have created so much that keeps us busy, we can often feel somewhat disconnected from nature. In this practice, you'll become aware of your direct connection to nature, no matter where you are physically. There is no need to get away from your day-to-day experiences, or to go far away to connect with nature. All that is necessary is a moment of time, and a willingness to be open to the nature that lives within you. Take a moment to settle down, allowing yourself to become still. Allow the mind to notice your physical stillness in this moment. If it's possible and feels comfortable for you, feel free to softly lower the eyelids, to help bring your attention inwards, and allow all the body muscles to soften and relax. Begin to feel the weight of your body as it makes contact with the surface you are on, whether it be a chair, cushion, or mat, notice the strength of support from the earth below you, that holds you steady in this moment. Notice this as your direct and natural connection to Mother Earth. There is no physical separation between you and the planet. As you make contact to the surface you are on, you make contact with nature. Notice the sense of stillness and peace that Mother Earth naturally offers you. She can also feel your sense of stillness, and appreciate the peace you offer her in this moment. No matter where you are, there's always a direct connection to Mother Earth. May you feel this connection and be nourished by it. Let's now bring attention to the breath. As you inhale, let it be deep, and feel the abundance and power of nature's air. As you exhale, let it go completely, knowing that you can trust in its abundance. There is no life without this breath, notice it as it moves through you, nourishing and cleansing the body. May you open up to this life force energy with a deep breath of gratitude for how naturally this air flows through you. No matter where you are, this air you breathe is proof that you are nature. You are always connected to the nature that surrounds you. May you feel this connection and be nourished by it. I invite you to another deep breath, inhale, and release. Let it go. Let it flow naturally. As you connect to earth and air, I invite you to also connect to your heart. As you inhale, direct the breath to the area of your heart. May you feel the warmth of your heart, and know just like the planet, the heart is made of mostly water. And just as the ocean waves pulse, your heart beats with your true nature. May you cherish your heart, and your direct connection to nature, knowing that you are always connected to it no matter where you are. May your connection...
