Fear of relatives' death and mindfulness?

The way we approach our meditation will reflect the way we approach life. There are so many misconceptions about what meditation is, or isn’t, and what we’re supposed to be doing, or not doing, whilst sitting with our eyes closed. So this is the place to discuss our view, our attitude and motivations - how and why we’re getting some Headspace.

Fear of relatives' death and mindfulness?

Hi,
I am 22 and fortunately, I have never experienced the death of any close relative so far. However, I often find myself thinking about how devastated I would be by the death of a relative and I deeply fear the moment when it will happen. I am rather healthy and happy with my life but I can't stop having these "gloomy" thoughts. I have started Headspace in September 2014 and practise regularly since then; it has helped me since I can more easily take a step back and breathe when problems arise but I just don't manage to apply mindfulness when it comes to this topic: death of relatives. Do I need more mindfulness practise? Or a different approach?
Thank you very much,
Anne
