Do you have any tips on how to bring mindfulness into very busy work situations, which often require multitasking and fitting a lot into the time?

Andy's Answer:

First of all it's worth saying that we're far less effective and productive when we multitask - if you believe the scientific research anyway. It also feels a bit manic too.

I'd recommend trying - as much as possible - to simply do one thing after the next - even if you have to do them quickly. Mindfulness does not mean to go slow, it means to be present. So we can still be mindful and operate effectively.

I'd also recommend putting some blank post-it notes or something similar in places which remind you to just pause for a moment every now and again. Just pause long enough to experience one whole breath, and then continue. You'll be surprised at what a difference this makes to everything feeing hurried or rushed.
