Learning to Meditate

Are you looking to start a meditation practice?  Or perhaps looking to help get a friend or family member started?  We thought we’d compile some top tips for how to kick-start a meditation practice that sticks the length of time.

1.Get going and do it!

Whilst it might sound obvious, meditation only works if you do it.  Don’t waste time thinking about it – just get on and do it.  Making just a small commitment can lead to great and powerful changes.

2.Clear motivations

Make sure that you’re clear on your motivations.  Remember that the benefits of meditation are not just for you, but also for those around you.  Not only your partner, friends and family, but even those further afield, who you interact with more randomly – and just think about the ripple effect...  The benefits are endless!  Thinking big in this way will help reaffirm the importance and meaning behind your meditation practice.

3.One day at a time

To really see the benefits, regular, consistent practice is the key.  Learning to meditate is just like learning any other skill – it requires practice.  This isn’t some quick fix solution – meditation is a skill for life and it will develop and evolve in just that way.  Make sure you take each day at a time and don’t be too hard on yourself.

We have a range of free resources available on our website that are ideal for those just starting out.  You can find out more about the benefits of meditation or can get stuck straight in by signing up for our free meditation app trial.
